I wonder if this song is referencing "the morning of the magicians"
Avatar 7:44am
annie:

i awoke to see the moon peering in my window, turned over and woke to see a pale blue sky. hope you are all well.
Avatar 7:47am
ausmanx:

it's not as catchy as "stick-to-it-ive ness"
  7:47am
Santos L Halper:

Have an early 80s LP of their music; pretty good as I recall
  7:53am
AlanQuatermass:

Very well Annie. Here in France, we start a long working afternoon...

annie:

the baha'i are the most peaceful group of people i know; at least the group i know.i once though of actually joining the group.
  7:59am
Cliff:

Good morning everyone....and I thought Baha'i had more legitimacy than a cult, it gets listed as a religion in most places
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59am
micah:

this is a program dedicated to cults and new religious movements
Avatar 8:02am
annie:

morning cliff. their holy book, the [kitabiakdas] is inspiring. i know i spelled that wrong^
  8:02am
Cliff:

I see (so do Mormons count too?)...and it looks like you played something done by Gurdjieff before, I'll have to check that out on the archives :)
  8:03am
Cliff:

And good morning Annie, how are you?

annie:

hi melinda!! i'm fine cliff..the dog we were sitting on was picked up last night and now the cat is able to roam freely again. life is back to normal. hey micah, i know you've played some stuff from the EST movement, have you devoted a whole hour to them?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10am
micah:

there are a couple of weird mormon recordings out there. not too many that im aware of
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11am
micah:

annie ive never played anything from est. they never did any music . all they do is yell at you for 3 days straight
Avatar 8:16am
annie:

i had friends drawn into that, it scared the bejeebus out of me. i stayed far away. i think that movement is still around, too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16am
micah:

yea. its called landmark forum now. everyones mom in the 70s was in est.
  8:18am
melinda:

Is landmark education the new est?
  8:19am
melinda:

Ah, yes.
  8:19am
Cliff:

I think Steve Jobs was in it too, maybe that's why he liked to yell at his employees
Avatar 8:22am
annie:

i understood the belittling part very well. i thought it was similar to a marines boot camp, drag em down, bring em back up with "praise". i know there's a psycho-babble word for that.
  8:27am
melinda:

Omg this is great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29am
Mike East:

I lost a friend to landmark forum. Met him a few years later after he had gotten out and he apologized for being so pushy trying to get me to sign up for workshops. We'd grown too far apart by then so I haven't kept in touch. I appreciated his apology though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29am
Mike East:

I doubt their music was any good.
  8:30am
AlanQuatermass:

Seems like italian version of Strangler's "walk on by"
Avatar 8:33am
Grok-o-matic:

Man this is some sweetness. That bass, almost sound like a swampdog ballad.
Avatar 8:46am
Wild Neil:

@Micah-I honestly did not know your entire show was based on music from new religions and cults...I thought it was just one aspect of your show...by the way, do you have any snake charmer cult music? THAT would be pretty weird maybe...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am
micah:

it is just one aspect of my show. its one hour in between 3 hours of freeform.
  8:47am
Cliff:

3 entire hours of mind-control music would be a bit much ;)
  8:57am
Cliff:

Thanks Micah!
