So is it a manssiere or a Bro? I have time on my hands to ponder that one.

Hello, Bill. Happy to arrive early and claim the Barcalounger.

I just have to play this louder, though I can't play it loud enough to do justice to the live experience at its best

Did Branca inform Fripp or was it the other way around?

There's some nice liner notes here to help me get some answers...

Hi all!
Saw Branca many years ago, Mudd Club, downtown NYC. It s really an amazing live experience, don't think it translates well to records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm

@Bill: don't forget Rhys Chatham, though Glenn Branca wouldn't mention him much

Lot of dislike for Dylan out there, me too I'm afraid. I'm trying to correct that

Amazing to think that this was contraversial at the time, Dylan folkies were crying "sell out!"

I love this! I saw Lou Reed doing Magic and Loss at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Rolling out of Griffith Park after the show was over, the city was on fire. It was the first night of the L.A. Riot of '92

and Glenn Branca...i've wondered how much influence he got from japanese composer Somei Satoh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm

i mostly like "the original modern lovers" but all the crap he's done since then has pretty well ruined it for me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm
doctorjazz:

Bringing it All Back Home was Dylan's 1st venture into electric music, but it was still part acoustic. HIGHWAY 61 WAS THE FIRST that was fully electric.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Franco Twinkie:

Coel, I know. Some times you just have the ask yourself 'why' But I still rock Old World frome the first album. Just like Sword of Damocles, it resonates.

"Judas" said the man at the Manchester Free Trade Hall.

"desolatin row" on hwy 61 is acoustic too

Franco i don't know that song. it's not on my copy of the album
- but yeah i do like hearing a few songs after all. "she cracked" comes to mind.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm

oh, i see Franco. i forgot that before the album "the original modern lovers" came out, the original modern lovers had an album called " the modern lovers"!

I misread your show title, bra for bar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm
Franco Twinkie:

The first time Chresti ever came to my place a billion years ago, she was in my studio playing records while I was trying(unsuccessfully) to get something going with her friend in the other room. She was playing The first Modern Lovers album, and dropped it on the cinder blocks the turntable was sitting on. Old World has a nasty skip that takes me back to that fateful day any time I play it.

Did Cosby originate the term Fat Albert.

One night I was walking down Speedway in Venice with a friend to the liquor store and he said "That's where Johnny Rotten lives" My friend has a voice that really travels, so I look at the house and the Rotten One is sitting on his front porch looking at us. I was actually embarrassed. He looked so vulnerable all by himself.

Ruth Underwood is amazing. Saw her up close when she was in The Mothers. She was a sight to behold.

She was great on the 'Roxy and Elsewhere' recordings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm

I gotta get a bathtub, my aching bones. you know?
