Favoriting Cratedigger's Lung with Rich In Washington: Playlist from April 26, 2019 Favoriting

Rich in Washington's avatar View Rich in Washington's profile Favoriting

A three-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

Hello, Folks! Grab a mattress and make yourself at home.
  7:01pm
Martinibomb:

Nice I think this fad gadget makes a good halloween track
Avatar 7:02pm
Don-O:

I remember seeing these clips in Reflections Of Evil, movie by Damon Packard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm
Rich in Washington:

Indeed. Hello, Martinibomb!
Avatar 7:02pm
Mr Fab:

yo Rich!

Don-O: I have fond memories of listening to The Real Don Steele, shouting out of my AM transistor radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm
Rich in Washington:

Really? That's weird! I just randomly found this today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm
Rich in Washington:

Hello, Mr. Fab!
Avatar 7:03pm
Don-O:

Now I will picture Ms. Heatherton singing you selections.
Avatar 7:04pm
Don-O:

As for Don Steele is concerned, he never did reveal who Tina Delado is. Seems that he took that mystery down with him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm
Rich in Washington:

Yeah. I initially had no idea that was her. I just found this in a compilation of early 70s commercials. I must say, she makes her case rather emphatically, even without sound.
Avatar 7:05pm
Don-O:

Oh, another Joey Fact: for reasons unknown, she appeared in Playboy in the late 90's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm
Rich in Washington:

I always like Drew Friedman's comic strip about her. It was pretty hilarious.
Avatar 7:09pm
Don-O:

I, Joey Heatherton was great. Plus SCTV did a good job on her, too. I wonder if that was the end of Joey's career....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm
Rich in Washington:

Not sure. I mean, she did that Playboy thing AFTER..
Avatar 7:12pm
Mr Fab:

Well, now I see why Andy Breckman on "7 Second Delay" always uses her as his ideal fantasy woman. Kind of a running joke on that show for years, as she isn't too well-remembered, much to Andy's amazement.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm
Rich in Washington:

Yeah. I too was sort of surprised. I just recall her being the butt of lots of jokes about being a washout, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm
Rich in Washington:

This was inspired by me listening to the 9 1/2 hour long nature sounds marathon on KBOO while listening to some instrumental guitar albums, and realized that frogs go well with most instrumental music.
  7:21pm
Martinibomb:

Love the show today Rich! hating that I live in a world of no more mom n pop computer shops. Just need a new power supply and you can't even walk into a store in a metro area like portland and get one. Shamefull
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
Rich in Washington:

I know a good mac guy, but in Vancouver.
  7:23pm
Martinibomb:

This Interior Rhythms I is pretty cool. Never heard of Paul ellis? Ordered a power supply online.. but even just a couple years ago there were computer shops in Portland.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm
Rich in Washington:

Daryl Groetsch is also known as Pulse Emitter here in town. Paul is a cool dude. He's done tons of great ambient albums.
  7:24pm
Martinibomb:

Oh yeah! I know Pulse Emitter okay I know who this is
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm
Rich in Washington:

I really like their album. It's really Blade Runnery.
  7:27pm
Martinibomb:

yeah horror or scifi film soundtrack
  7:32pm
Martinibomb:

this piano riff is cool as all heck.. Grails?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm
Rich in Washington:

Speaking of horror soundtrack..
Yeah. This sounds like a lost Zombie movie soundtrack.
  7:33pm
Martinibomb:

I met Jim O'rourke once. A friend of mine had put out a release of his. So long ago I can't remember what we talked about
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm
Rich in Washington:

I really love the experimentalism of those self-released Sonic Youth Records records.
  7:36pm
Martinibomb:

I think I'm going to go see the Satin Chaps tonight at the Secret Society. they haven't played in 5 years or something
  7:37pm
Martinibomb:

they cover a bunch of kpm and similar
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
Rich in Washington:

I don't believe I've ever heard of them. That sounds cool!
  7:41pm
Martinibomb:

this Negativland is good. Already listened a few times
Avatar 7:42pm
Mr Fab:

Library music covers? Cool, hope they record some.
Avatar 7:43pm
Mr Fab:

Surprised there's new Negativland coming out. Thought they were pretty much all dead? Well, at least too many deaths to carry on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
Rich in Washington:

Far from it. They've sort of coalesced around Mark H., Jon Leidecker (aka Wobbly) and others. Really different and pretty cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
Rich in Washington:

They've always been a shifting/mutating collective.
Avatar 7:46pm
Mr Fab:

ha, they brought back the "we just don't have enough dada" lady
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm
Rich in Washington:

I know! I love that!
Avatar 7:48pm
Mr Fab:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm

Avatar 7:51pm
Mr Fab:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm
Rich in Washington:

Not sure, but it's lovely.
  7:54pm
Martinibomb:

gah can't believe there's only 5min left. Maybe u should do a 2 hour show?
  7:55pm
Martinibomb:

  7:56pm
Martinibomb:

AND that's it for another week of Sheena's Jungle Room programming. Luckily the stream is always there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm
