That’s way farther than I want to be from my bed right now.

I skimmed through it, Matt. Good stuff.

Call On Me - one of the best album covers ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Who’s spinning there tonight?
Avatar 10:10pm
Kris Holmes:

from an artist with a number of great album covers

Kris Holmes:

It's Dale's birthday celebration & several of the guys are there. My facebook feed is getting photo/post bombed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I live uptown and am carless so going down to the bywater is a haul.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
Franco Twinkie:

Yup, Two Steps From The Blues. He is either going to see the dentist or a real estate agent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I was unaware Spirit had released so many albums.
Avatar 10:22pm
northguineahills:

Was this track on a Spirit LP, I don't have any of their 45s, yet is sounds familiar...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm
Matt from New Orleans:

The Self-Titled album
Avatar 10:24pm
northguineahills:

Is that Jack Mercer in Bent Bolt & the Nuts, sounds like classic Popeye?!
Avatar 10:24pm
northguineahills:

@Matt: Yes, I have that LP!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm
Little Danny:

Franco: you surely crossed Spirit's path at some point, no?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm
Franco Twinkie:

When I was 14 a friend of mine had somehow convinced his mom to let him put the family lift-top Magnavox in his bed room closet. He did not have enough records to justify hogging the hi-fi, but he had the first Spirit album. We would listen to Mechanical Word over and over....and over again. I remember his mom coming in and saying "Do you think you could play something else?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm
Little Danny:

Oh man I love the big 12-string guitar break in this Terry Knight!

Their only side I've hung on to over the years
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Expanding your remit this evening sir
Avatar 10:31pm
Kris Holmes:

yeah, a few weirdos in amongst
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm
Franco Twinkie:

I had a chicken pot pie and two aspirin and now I'm totally sailing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Prolific band The Collection(6)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm
Matt from New Orleans:

So is the discogs numbering based on date of entry or do they switch it up if suddenly a band becomes more prominent
Avatar 10:41pm
Kris Holmes:

turn of entry, but yeah, far too good a track to be on a $3 45 by a "one & done" band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm
Franco Twinkie:

Jay Ferguson said Spirit named The Twelve Dreams... after the crappy low-budget sci-fi horror movie Doctor Sardonicus that was always on TV at that time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Mr Sardonicus is the title of the movie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Then they dropped the Mr while it was still in theaters and made new posters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Or the reverse actually. They printed a bunch of publicity materials as Sardonicus and then reverted back to Mr Sardonicus right before release and redid everything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm
Franco Twinkie:

It was a William Castle movie, which tells you a lot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm
Matt from New Orleans:

The gimmick on that one was especially stupid
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm
Franco Twinkie:

I think I have it on Double Shot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm
Franco Twinkie:

Oh yeah, Matt. But, the horrible face with all those teeth is pretty good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm
chresti:

Haha wow Gallo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm
Franco Twinkie:

I think Bob drank to much Gallo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm
Little Danny:

@Kris: Thanks! Kinda fits in with my idea, indeed. Those weird echoplex edits? Crazy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm
Matt from New Orleans:

But how was handing out paper ballots to vote on his fate going to work when unlike Clue there was only one version.
Avatar 10:56pm
Kris Holmes:

Yeah, like "wake up listener"!!!
Avatar 10:57pm
fleep:

Startled for sure, that volume
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm
Little Danny:

I've lusted after that Don Caron (note spelling) for some time now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59pm
Matt from New Orleans:

Classic from non-native New Orleans legend Lee Allen
Avatar 10:59pm
Kris Holmes:

ahhhh, wfmu autocorrect
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm
Franco Twinkie:

Lee Allen played a lot with The Blasters. He would take a solo that would have the kids screaming. He did not dress like a rock-a-billy hoodlum, he wore a nice pair of slacks and a sweater.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04pm
Matt from New Orleans:

He moved out to the Bay Area
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I got confused Southern California. He was born in Pittsburg Kansas and got that reversed in my head
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm
Matt from New Orleans:

On that note I think I’m done with the phone. I’ll be listening till I pass out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm
Franco Twinkie:

Good night Matt.
Avatar 11:10pm
Kris Holmes:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm
Little Danny:

Sweet spooked Carla
Avatar 11:15pm
Kris Holmes:

she's a beautiful girl
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm
Little Danny:

Wow, lovin' this Ann Peebles
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm
Franco Twinkie:

I will say this again then never mention it again. As a youngster I had a book called Our Own Story by The Rolling Stones. Inside was a picture of Charlie Foxx with a process and a silk ascot playing Brian Jonses Vox teardrop guitar, as Brian looks on. I remember thinking: Who is this cat that Brian lets him play his guitar?
Avatar 11:32pm
Kris Holmes:

ha, that's fantastic
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59pm
Franco Twinkie:

Good night Kris.
