Handy Haversack:

The best thing about this exercise hell was getting to hear Kate sing "Back on the Chain Gang!" Whoo! Girl can sing!

Also good: knowing that she now has an inescapable mental image of me doing squats with my boxers pulled all the way up to my chest and my T-shirt tucked into them. Can't unring that bell!

Julie, I would send you her album! But I don't think Bandcamp lets us send comps -- or we haven't figured it out yet. And there's no way we can go in the Greenpoint PO right now. That place is a death trap even without a virus.

The James song was uplifting, too!
Avatar 🦇 12:39pm
Julie:

Handy you can send out bandcamp codes, I've got them from people before!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
Handy Haversack:

We will investigate, Julie! I will "Contact" you through your profile here for your e-mail address and figure out how to get the codes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm
doctorjazz:

Handy, you work at Bandcamp? Love that site! (my bank account, not so much...)
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:42pm
Handy Haversack:

Ah, it goes to an e-mail page -- even easier! We will delve into Bandcamp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm
doctorjazz:

Anyway, I've sent stuff to some listeners and some
DJ's...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Handy Haversack:

Dear god no, doctorjazz! Kate's band's album is up there, and I was trying to figure out if we could send Julie a complimentary copy.

Though I did spend several dozen minutes resizing images for the Bandcamp page over and over and over again to meet its wildly shifting specs ... it sure *felt* like work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Andrew Waterloo:

@Handy. There are some web tools that will create sets of images at different sizes and resolutions for you. I used to use one for Android development
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
doctorjazz:

Oh, sorry, missed some of the conversation. If you have a digital copy of her album on your computer somewhere, it's very easy to send these days, I use WeTreansfer, very simple to use on sender and receiver end.

There was a time that "interpretive" artists, that is, those that didn't write their own material (Joe Cocker comes to mind) were not considered as "important" as those that wrote and performed it (this was a small blip of time-historically, most musicians interpreted music by others or that was popular).

I've had chocolate pecan pie, and it's good, but here I'm going to be a traditionalist and go for the regular kind, if I have to chose (but not turning away the chocolate if it's available any time).
Never tried Karo on pie, pancakes, or any other food, at least not directly (I'm sure it was in many syrups I poured on things)

We're having either veggie and seitan stirfry in Handy sauce or Kate's Mexican eggs.

@doctorjazz: a very sad sight indelibly implanted on my mind's eye: a friend's bachelor party ended up at Sammy's Rumanian Steakhouse for dinner. I joined *after I got out of the ER that I had to go to straight from the racetrack.*

By then, many people were feeling the bottles of vodka frozen into Kool Whip containers that Sammy's lines the tables with.

My one friend thought he finally saw some orange juice to cut the vodka with and so picked up the pitcher on the table -- and the rebounding action of a dollop of schmaltz poured into a glass of ice-cold vodka is simultaneously ethereal and definitely physical. Embodied. And slow.

Plenty of time for the realization to sink in before it hits the surface.
