Every once in a while our (one) bathroom sink starts draining very slowly and it's my job to remove the stopper and rid it of the hair-sludge that has accumulated around it. This is the one sink/plumbing thing I know how to do.

@Jeff, I got a plastic snake thing, really just a narrow stick with a few "branches" on it, which you push down the drain. When you pull it up, all the sludge and hair comes with it. Then you must decide whether you would just rather push that stuff back in the drain, because it is pretty gross.

I've read that it's actually quite difficult playing both sax and trumpet, in terms of embouchure, the demands are very different. Benny Carter was able to pull it off until he got older, then had to give up the trumpet.

Johnson's first albums were all with McLean. The only other Blue Note he's on is Mobley's "Reach Out" (Motown covers). Looks like he has some albums as a leader in the 1970s-80s-90s I've never heard them -- self released

I have the 1987 CD reissue of this album... it's misbanded and that's why you actually heard the end of the alternate take of "Saturday and Sunday" at the beginning of "Frankenstein." (Of course I had to re-edit the CD and burn a "corrected" edition.)

@UM..the rose-breasted grosbeak is quite striking in appearance. We don't get those up here. I did see an Oriole once about three or four years ago. They have a flight layover here I think...they just flirt with the idea of north.
