Good morning Kevin-san, and tap went out of common use some while back, though it's still used. Tap dancers, too.

  6:44am
LiXiviated Life:

My family would come up to Ft Lee from Jersey City in the summer.
North
Through Hoboken
Weehawken
Names that mark time and history
Before the homes and high rises that face Manhattan
There’s a park under the GWB
The Palisades to the east
and the Hudson on the west
I made the trip yesterday.
Sat on a bench
watching the River
pulse and flow
The River has always been there
but never the same.
I was there
and I was somewhere else
and tomorrow
  6:45am
clarke:

well, despite our water coming from the Miss River, the processing plant does a very good job - aside from a few boil alerts in 'hoods, etc.

filtering in general: good idea!

Palisades Amusement Park was Oz
Bright lights at the top of the cliff.
There was also Uncle Miley’s in Bayonne NJ
Did not have the same panache as Palisades Park but for a city kid it was still wonderful.

TDK60:

Lix, I was/am scared of heights and once on the ferris wheel I got stuck on top for a while, with the Hudson and NYC below me. I was nervous, had to look at my shoes. / I read that the owners of P.P. knew and didn't care there was a big hole in a fence through which children snuck in.

Nash to Stoudemire may be referring to former NBA players (and current head coach/assistant coach, respectively, of the Nets), Steve Nash and A'mare Stoudemire, since the first page of google search on Nash to Stoudemire calls up their amazing career together on the Phoenix Suns. Searching M.J. Lenderman does not bring up the record label but rather the recording artist. So wow, man, I dunno.

litmus0001: good morning, and thanks! Email me at shrink at wfmu dot org and we'll take it from there.
TDK60: what I just cannot understand is how the very people that the Republicans particularly hurt, the poor and working class across a wide swath of this country, keep voting for them, and all the while their slice of America dwindles. Mind you, the Democrats don't get off scott-free here, but generally don't have the contempt of the Republicans toward their base.

The big orange baby will eventually leave, but he and his 70 million cult members are going to continue to be a thorn in our sides for many years to come. Even after he dies, the cult will remain, with some of them probably insisting that he's still alive, living in some secret place, with some hip grifter claiming that he's receiving messages from Dear Leader for how to dismantle the Democrat/Communist cabal of elitist pedophiles and baby eaters. Hoo boy, we've come a long way from crackpots standing on corners handing out leaflets, haven't we?
