North
Through Hoboken
Weehawken
Names that mark time and history
Before the homes and high rises that face Manhattan
There’s a park under the GWB
The Palisades to the east
and the Hudson on the west
I made the trip yesterday.
Sat on a bench
watching the River
pulse and flow
The River has always been there
but never the same.
I was there
and I was somewhere else
and tomorrow

Bright lights at the top of the cliff.
There was also Uncle Miley’s in Bayonne NJ
Did not have the same panache as Palisades Park but for a city kid it was still wonderful.

LiXiviated Life, I also went to Palisades as a kid, but only once or twice. Went to Rye Playland also.

TDK60: what I just cannot understand is how the very people that the Republicans particularly hurt, the poor and working class across a wide swath of this country, keep voting for them, and all the while their slice of America dwindles. Mind you, the Democrats don't get off scott-free here, but generally don't have the contempt of the Republicans toward their base.

got to go to Palisades Park with the YMCA day camp 2 years in a row and then it closed.
then 30 years later, my band pocket monster played for NYC Transit Workers Appreciation Day at Rye Playland. They fed AND paid us!
