Politics keep me off the boards and I’m glad I wasn’t involved last week
I’m under the impression that a majority of FMU DJs are not open to opposing views. That’s been my experience.one actually blocked me when there was no debate just an open discussion. After blocking me he cleared my comments and called me an idiot when I couldn’t respond. So yeah
I stay out of the boards when I see politics.

@Niall, that year in Ireland I recorded anything and everything for my field studies. Accents. Music. Pub sessions. Conversations. Regular philosophical patter with that guy who was selling the In Dublin magazine in Grafton St. outside Bewley's. Memories of the woman in that B&B in Sligo who was showing me around her farm house and explaining about cutting the peat and that Yeats was staying overnight in their house when her auntie was alive.

Roadside Picnic, there is the sense of apocalypse (or Apocalypse) through most or all of Tarkovsky, and I think he might have been giving a nod to the Soviet Union, but it seems to be more about the situation on the planet. I would like to think that he still believed in redemption, if for no other reason than the fact that his films are so visually beautiful.

One song I've always wanted to hear is 'Christ made a trance' by Shirley collins. Can't afford the box set it's on and I've never seen it on YouTube. Ugh. That's so upsetting, Yeti Bob. I hope he'll be okay.
Avatar 8:10am
YETI BOB:

He had a fairly mild case, which cleared up, he tested negative, then had a big relapse which at first they said was not COVID, then a second test said it was.
Avatar 8:11am
YETI BOB:

@Buddha: He got a some plasma 2 days ago that has antibodies, but it hasn't made much of a difference, yet. He's stable but not improving. Yeah it's a bit worrying, we're all hoping for the best.

All the time and energy it takes to get the test. He was right before the tests confirmed.

Avatar 8:13am

Yeti Bob, Covid is such a bastard. Also the long-term consequences have to be considered. A friend of mine kept being diagnosed psychosomatic until recently when doctors started to admit what they call 'the long Covid'.
I wish your friend a good and lasting recovery from the bottom of my heart.

Buddah, nah...the Spider John was a little bit sound, with the spoons or whatever that percussion was, but we're in the blues.
YETI BOB, that's awful, and I hope everyone here takes note. It might be a rare case, but we shouldn't need any more reminders to be really careful yet, until the vaccine is available.

I want to play tennis today with friends. I know they will all be out on this 60 degree sunny day. Playing doubles is a bit risky. You stay 6feet apart "most of the time". Hard to play tennis with a mask but I think I will today if I decide to play. I been so careful. One gets tired of missing out on everything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16am

Buddah...fragmentary sentence. I meant to write "was a little bit different kind of sound" (from most blues recordings)

Reading all of the kindness makes me happy. Political discussions do not upset me; sometimes they actually energize. Deborah, we definitely need political discussions, but maybe not on the comments board, but what we need are real discussions, not lists of talking points serving only as barbs. As for covid, cripes, I've been careful but guess I'm going to rein it in a bit, as I've been enjoying a tad more freedom of movement. Doesn't bode well for small business, though.

@Jeffrey Davison Agree re political discussion. Miss my academic hangout times an discussions with pals and with students. (Don't miss class time that much). Coffee an political discussions were a part of my everyday existence. However, it was easy. Only found one trumper in four years of chat and debate; that was a student.
I am moving around re COVID but not exactly ecstatic. Well, there will be vaccinations soon-ish and more discussion will ensue.
Thanks for a most fitting show!
