Another example of the many, short, 15 minute programs that tried to engage the literary aspect of radio entertainment. There were a ton of shows like this, and it's funny to think that America might have an accidental, passing relationship with short fiction, because they listened to the radio. I'm not sure that's true, anymore.

Johnny Dollar was on the air for 13 years, performed by four different actors, and had over 800 original episodes made in that time. There were movie spin-offs, magazines, and the character occasionally comes back in other forms, here and there. Johnny Dollar used to be a lot more popular in the 50's and 60's, and it's a shame that the kids don't know about this character.

My niece goes to college at Trinity College in Hartford. I invited her to tour the Mark Twain House on Farmington Ave. I went there on a school field trip when I was young so it was so great returning and seeing it again with more appreciative eyes. My niece loved the tour as well
