Good morning Dan!

Sun. 6/14/09 6:28am From: Dan B

Hey Hector, what's the good word?

Sun. 6/14/09 6:31am From: Hector

Errr...Sunday and working? Because that is what I do while listening to your program....

Sun. 6/14/09 6:38am From: Lovich

Morning Dan. Morning all.
Keep up the good show...

Sun. 6/14/09 6:44am From: annie

it's always a joy to see cassiel when i log on. good morning dan. been listening over an hour now, nice way to wake up. haven't heard any news except what yahoo told me about some landslide in the iranian elections. will have to see what my buds are sayin on FB.

Sun. 6/14/09 6:46am From: Hector

Following on your comments, it is really very sand the concept of democracy that is being installed in many places, in which governments are very democratic until they dislike the results...

Sun. 6/14/09 7:00am From: Chris Garcia (Shoreditch, London)

Dan, good morning to you. loving the show, and the dronecasts!!

its midday here in london, just checked up on whats happening in Iran via the web. can't find much at all. BBC has the most detailed stuff. its crazy - guys chasing off secret police, burining state banks and shouting for freedom. Commentary says theres been a coup

(Formerly at the BBC)

Sun. 6/14/09 7:02am From: annie

for what i've been noticing: most democratic elections are rigged to have a result that is not satisfactory to the public, but satisfactory to the powers that be. wow. chris, interesting news. i'll have to read my guardian this morning, do they print on sunday?

Sun. 6/14/09 7:05am From: chris Garcia (Shoreditch, London)

annie, guardian becomes the observer on sundays - lotsa of supplements and mags. a great newspaper group!

Sun. 6/14/09 7:11am From: annie

i see a story about rioting. have an afghani friend who might have some insight... might have to see if he's around. chris, do i have to find the observer separately? or does is automatically come as such for sunday?

Sun. 6/14/09 7:14am From: chris Garcia (Shoreditch, London)

Observer in published every sunday in the UK

Sun. 6/14/09 7:16am From: annie

okey dokey.

Sun. 6/14/09 7:18am From: ?

Just found this:

1930 GMT: Mobile phone service was cut almost two hours ago. Many Iranians are now relying on the Internet for information, but there are concerns that this might be disrupted tomorrow. BBC Persian has now been blocked.

Sun. 6/14/09 7:44am From: annie

Sun. 6/14/09 7:47am From: Bas, NL

Thirwell on Fabio! Great!!

Sun. 6/14/09 7:47am From: Sven

I use the P.U.P. It's good

Sun. 6/14/09 7:48am From: Hector

Interesting tought about advertisement, but not entirely agree: The point is not if the message urges you to act, but rather if it urges you to act WITHOUT you noticing...Word of mouth can be advertisement, viral marketing is advertisement, of course sponsorship is advertisement (you don urge to buy products, but you strenght the company name), even you programming music can urge somebody to purchase the disc...without urging to buy it or even been paid to said so...

Sun. 6/14/09 7:48am From: andy/sunderland

Joe's Megacorp sounds great, I am going to look for more info immediately.

I was reading in the Wire you could pay and go and live with the Master Musicians in Jajouka for a couple of days and listen to them play in their natural setting. That was 5th-7th of June though

Sun. 6/14/09 7:48am From: TP

Dan, show is great but if I may, you talk too much...sorry.

Sun. 6/14/09 7:49am From: Hector

You talk to much? Easy: change the dial.

Sun. 6/14/09 8:06am From: Tom L (Hallock Hill)

Great show today Dan.

Sun. 6/14/09 8:08am From: annie

TP- one of the best things about this station is the fact that the djs create a unique show, each time. some talk not at all then alot for another show. love the freeform stuff. there are djs that talk more than they should, sure, but we just go with the flow or wait til the next deejay! yeah, what tom said, great show, glad i tuned in.

Sun. 6/14/09 8:11am From: Tom L (Hallock Hill)

Read Steve Reich... Talk is music.

Sun. 6/14/09 8:11am From: owen

i always like the talking on this show, get to hear the necks (who i saw play the other week as a direct result of the talk-over music.)

oh, and dan bodah's winnign personality, obviously...

Sun. 6/14/09 8:22am From: Dan B

It's funny, because one of the most common criticisms we get at the station is that we don't talk enough. Maybe we tend to get so into the music that we save it all up. Maybe next week I'll just talk for the entire show -- I can't imagine what I'd say for 3 hours, but it might be fun to find out what comes outta my gob if put to the test...

Sun. 6/14/09 8:23am From: annie

you could do a belated bloomsday celebration,

Sun. 6/14/09 8:24am From: Dan B

Oh, also, my second kid will be born anytime -- when my first was born, I talked about if for a long time and had an extremely irate phone call from a listener who yelled at me for ruining his WFMU listening experience by talking, since HE tuned in to listen to music, not hear about my spawn. Fair enough. They DO make dials on radios for a reason...

Sun. 6/14/09 8:29am From: annie

oh great dan, if you're the coach. imagine the on-air talk!! wohoo! congratulations!. i have one, myself. all grown up and makin a mark

Sun. 6/14/09 8:49am From: annie

dan, so glad i joined in this am, it's been great! good luck on the pending arrival.

Sun. 6/14/09 8:50am From: Dan B

Thanks Annie, great to have you along!

Mon. 6/15/09 3:00am From: Carl
