Atwell was previously unknown to me. I'm surprised I don't recall ever seeing her recordings before.

Interesting bit from the Wikipedia entry for her:
"Her hands were insured with Lloyd's of London for £40,000 (the policy stipulating that she was never to wash dishes)."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am
Jan Turkenburg:

The prizes will be interesting for people who like to learn about light music history as we do along the way here.

I'm on vacation next week so will have to be vigilant that I don't fall to temptation to program prizes too often. Still puzzling over my swag for life DJ premiums. Franco's Sheena t-shirt is one obvious choice. Still musing on others.
  8:27am
Martinibomb:

yeh! I can't wait to get my Franco shirt! I think I might need more than one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28am
Jan Turkenburg:

Me too!
  Swag For Life Member 8:28am
WR:

My thought as well, how to get more than one.

Hello Jan. Wot no Russ Conway?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Brian! His recordings are just about too young for this program. But maybe I'll find some that do qualify, next week.

I'll sleep on this tough decision...

Medleys like this is why I didn't know Atwell, barn burner crowd pleasers just weren't fashionable to my young self.

zivilars:

that's a real hit medley!

Just don't use a blind ear Jan and I'm sure you will make the aesthetic choice.
