I have .25 arc out here in Boonton, NJ
Grass is a suckers game! Fortunately, the prior owner before our purchase 12 yr ago planted sooo many plant the return every year and a new round pops up every 2 weeks as the prior fades! All spring, all summer, like clock work. I was soooooo excited to see moss popping in-between the grass starting 3 years ago! It looks cool and is super soft!
However, don’t go the ivy/ground myrtle ground cover!
They dominate, and then you are back to the ubiquitous sameness of lawn, where every dandelion is not a flower BUT A NEMESIS!!!

I'm at the point that I'll take grass over gardens and ground cover. Our house was built in the 50s and the same owner lived there until we bought it 3 years ago. She was into gardening when she was younger, but she was 91 when she sold us the house and hadn't taken care of the place for years. Its lovely today -- there are 70+ azalea bushes scattered over the property, but invasive ground cover was everywhere. the yard (and basement) were full of rodents and snakes until we started clearing stuff out. Way too much gardening for me
