I was about to write "calling doctorjazz". Hadn't read the earlier comments to see he was already connected. Very nice session with Sonny Clark. I've not listened to him in a long time and that was his 2nd album with Coltrane in the band. Very nice trumpet playing by Art Farmer. From Wikipedia:

Sonny Clark – piano
Art Farmer – trumpet
Curtis Fuller – trombone
Hank Mobley – tenor saxophone
Wilbur Ware – bass
Louis Hayes – drums

There is a guy in my town in NJ who sharpens knives/blades. He comes to you with his van.

I think paranoid folks discourage peddlers. I know I don't answer the door if I'm not expecting anyone, but I'm a woman that lives alone, so that is recommended.

An Archers classic!

There's also a weird clip of her doing a live performance on a show called The Big TNT, or something like that as I recall, where she stops to hold hands with an audience member and serenade him, and it's actually Sky Saxon from The Seeds. One of those 'couldn't make it up' moments.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am

↳ Song: "Gonna find me a bluebird" by "Petula Clark"
Yes, Krys, I didn't realize that Pet Clark (born the same year as my mother) had been an active entertainer since a child, doing radio during WWII. Quick skim of her Wikipedia page outlines a long and very interesting career.

I've seen that!

Yes, I adore Powell/Pressburger films. A Matter of Life and Death was recently on TCM and it was so good to see. It was called Stairway to Heaven when they showed it on TV here in the States in the early 70s. An absolute favorite!

I love Pet's character in IKWIG.

You're a woman after my own heart, Krys. AMOLAD is just about my favourite film of all time. Powell was a bloody genius, and I thank the Lord for Coppola and Scorsese allowing him to play Merlin in their Camelot when he was so badly in the wilderness for so long. Have you seen A Canterbury Tale? That's a weird one, but one I absolutely love too. (and from where Kubrick pinched his 2001 jump cut).

By the way, teenage Ron & Russell Mael are in the audience of the Big TNT show. They're in frame with the camera pans the audience during the Ronettes appearance. I spotted that about 20 some odd years ago and, through Dutch fan club channels, told the Mael brothers about it. They thanked us (my ex was the communicator, I was the spotter). That bit of info made it into the Sparks documentary Edgar Wright made. Always proud of that even though I don't get credited.
